Fire Fighters supporting MDA…

As we get closer to Labor Day weekend please be aware that your Anchorage Fire Fighters are going to be at local area intersections collecting for the MDA fundraiser “Fill the Boot”. We have participated in this fundraiser every Friday on Labor Day weekend for over 30 years making this one of the most traditional in Anchorage. Over the last couple months we have seen a struggle to understand if this fundraiser is appropriate under city ethics laws and we applaud the assembly and the administration for their work to understand the situation and consider what is best for the community. As we all know the city administration has given the fundraiser a “go” and your Anchorage Fire Fighters along with the MDA kids appreciate this support. Please help us continue to make this the most successful MDA Fill the Boot on the west coast…again!

For those that feel that this fundraiser is hamper to traffic and unsafe; you can avoid these intersections on Friday September 3rd from 3pm – 6pm:
